Starting the Year Right?
January 7, 2008It was almost halfway the first month of the New Year 2008, and I am still struggling for new entries in my dull blog. To tell you the truth, I really have a lot of things in my mind that I want to share to my readers, but my time is pre-occupied with a lot of other stuff - career, career, career, gym, gym, gym, DotA, DotA and DotA; things that fill my daily schedules, and when I find a spare time to log-in and post an entry, that will also be the time that my tired body would prefer to lie down and sleep.
So this is my first post after a month, and I failed to greet everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and Happy New Year. With all the Holiday rush and stuff (career, career, career, gym, gym, gym, DotA, DotA and DotA) that preempted the Holiday vacations, I didn’t even got a chance to post a sentence or two, and I found my excuses so lame… forgive me.
The year 2007 is now a history. Personally, the previous year is one big hit but as I recall the things that transpired in my personal life, I found it hard to summon up what I’ve been through that year. Now I appreciate blogging more. If only I made it to the point to religiously update my site, things would be easier to remember.
To review the previous year: 300 was the movie of the year that I like the most; Won a two thousand worth of SM gift certificate from auction.ph; Accidentally hit by Michael during the PALaro Badminton tourney; Team Blackout eventually surprisingly won the 2nd runner-up in the tournament; First time I set my feet to the world by going to Hong Kong and Macau; Thrill to the max as I jumped off the tallest commercial bungee jumping site – the Macau Tower; Our very own Dulce Tira Tira dance video is a hit in youtube; Fought for what I believe was right in HCBS.
Nationally, it was a mixed of good and bad events that highlighted our country last year: Growing economy; Rising peso (Asia’s Best Performing currency for the second straight time); Dismal fifth place finish in the 2007 SEA Games; Glorrieta and Batasan Blasts; Manila Peninsula Siege.
As I face this New Year, I dare myself to be a better version of myself personally and virtually. Personally; to continue fighting for what I believe is right; to go to new places I’ve never been to; to save more; to invest more; and to evaluate my career intelligently. Virtually means, better blogging habits; so I challenge my self to have updated blog at least weekly; new and better layout and design; and more interesting posts.
Goodluck!
Look at What You’ve All Done
December 7, 2007
Hey Trillanes, Lim, Guingona, Labayen, et. al, look at what you’ve done. You world class idiots. If you think you are all heroes, then think again. You are all a big disgrace. I thought I will not be posting an entry about the absurd acts of these people, but upon reading an article about the effect of their acts, I went out of control and decided to create this post. If I were you guys, I’ll hang myself to death. Don’t get me wrong. I am not a die-hard Arroyo fan. Yes I voted for her in the last presidential election, but things have changed now. We already saw the monster evolved in her yet I also saw the bigger opposition monsters evolved in the speed exponential to her growth. Call GMA an evil, but I think she’s still the lesser evil (is she?), compare to those who are wanting for her ouster. Read on guys, here is the news article I am talking about. (click here for the link). ————————————————————————————————————
Clients look for back-up sites outside RP, says BPO exec MANILA, Philippines–Due to perceived security risks, business process outsourcing (BPO) clients would now favor service providers that have back-up sites outside the Philippines, according to one executive. Jose Maria Gajitos,Perot Systems country manager, said Thursday’s attempt to oust President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, after Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and his supporters took over The Peninsula Manila, definitely impacts on the image of Makati as a good BPO site. Nonetheless, he said the recent incident would encourage customers to scrutinize the service providers that have offshore operations here. "From a political risk standpoint, clients with mission-critical processes will now seek a risk-mitigated approach to utilizing Makati as a service center and would definitely require an alternate site outside the Philippines as a back-up," he explained. Perot Systems, founded by Texas billionaire Ross Perot, employs around 300 workers in its facility located at the Enterprise Tower in Makati City. Unlike most call centers, work was suspended at Perot’s facility from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. last Thursday. "We were hesitant to allow our workers to go to Makati. Our site in Chennai provided ‘load balancing’ or business continuity for our customers," Gajitos reported. The company, which provides services to clients in the healthcare industry, has operations in Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi in India.

"Fortunately, the situation was managed well on the ground," Gajitos said over the phone.

December 6, 2007I just came from starbucks a while a go to buy drinks of course since its their time for yearly planner. For those starbucks patron who are collecting stickers for the free planner, line at the nearest starbucks in your place at 1230H to 1400H and 2000H to 2130H 'till December 7th. Its their 10th year anniversary and their having double sticker per drink you buy. Great deal huh! I am 10 sticker short for the planner. I am aiming for one, not for personal use but more of a collection. I had a 2006 starbucks planner but I didn't use it.
Anyways, after the starbucks stuff, I went home and logged online. A blogger friend Benj had his YM Status message, "Anyone want to join the TRINOMA FOOD TOUR? FREE FOOD!". And it really captivated me. Who will not be captivated if it's FREE, much more if it's FOOD. Woah! I hurriedly emailed my registration with the hope of getting one of the 100 available slots for bloggers. Here's the link in case you are interested, http://trinoma.yehey.com/foodTour.html, and keep your fingers cross guys.
So much for that. A lot of things happened in the metropolis these past few days that I believe created a lot of entries in the Philippine blogging world. I decided not to create one. Para maiba lang. Masyado nang sumikat si Trillanes, and I don't want to add an entry about his stupidity. Anyhow, watch out for my Macau-Hongkong travelogue as I am already in the final stage of composing it. See you guys.

November 16, 2007Very seldom that we meet people who has guts to jump from a 233 meter tower. But I am proud to be one those who have what it takes to bear the adrenalin rush of a free fall. Ladies and gentlemen, I jumped off the world highest commercial bungy jumping site. Two hundred thirty three meters above the ground.
